The words 'Growth' and 'Forward' have a few commonalities: Both are seven characters in length, have a 'W' at the center and inspire the concept of 'motion'.
The concept of people moving, either forward or backward, (never in neutral) is the focus of this blog and will contain numerous stories, facts, opinions and potential rants.
Growing-Forward is really all about the concept of change. Whether we know it or not, like it or not, we are changing and because we change, everything around us changes. We change businesses (which are run by people), economies (people run/live-in/control them), religions (also run by people), relationships (which of course require… **hint - the word starts with 'p' and ends with 'pl'** etc…
What would happen if we grabbed hold of change and owned it as opposed to what virtually everyone around us is doing and letting change own and HAPPEN to us?
This blog will focus in on stories of people (some real, some not) and the concept of growth, either forward or backward. The goal is simple - to collaborate toward the common purpose of living better lives by leading and owning our growth.
I hope you'll join me working toward a better understanding of growth and how to lead it, own it, and graciously move with it!

So today I had a new experience taking my kids to the dentist. I am not sure if it is a franchise or if their new dentist came up with the idea, but it is amazing. The reception/waiting area is full of pottery barn toys, puzzles and mac computers with educational games on it. Right as they walk into the "chair" area they were given a bag and got to pick out their own tooth brushes, labeled by age, and other accessories. He had an abundance of flavors of tooth cleaner ranging from blueberry to marshmallow. The experience was amazing. I could go on. I thought our last dentist was great. It was new and nice, but similar to every other dentist. I had no idea that the dentist could be so invigorating. My thought while we were there was, "what else could be made more invigorating?" We so often go with the flow, cause it is what we know. I want to inspire thought and growth in my kids, let them know that we can always improve and change. I want their limits to be endless.... We can only achieve more and we are never going to see the end, so why not grow forward. Why not open the door to endless possibilities and see where it takes us? What creations can you come up with to make our world a different place?
